Calendars with large grids are hard to find in stores. I had one similar to this last year that I purchased at Staples but this year it seems no one had what I wanted. Finally decided to look online and bingo. This hasn't got pretty pictures but it is functional with lots of room for writing notes on the calendar if that is your habit. It is not flimsy, I would describe it as regular calendar paper. It folds out to 12" width X 24" length. The heading is 4" high with the date section taking up the remaining 20". Each individual grid is 1 5/8" X 4". As always, Amazon has fast and reliable shipping. I was happy with this but then I found two other large calenders at calendars.com. They have a "monster" calendar that is 16 1/2" X 24" and a "mammoth" that is 22" X 34". The mammoth is hugh. Calendars.com matched Amazon speed and shipping with free shipping over $25. I had the these last two on my doorstep in less than three days.Product details

Perfect for listing various activities with plenty of room to write. I purchased one of these last year also. It has become a must have calendar.

Finally, just what we need to help us keep track of a busy, evolving schedule. Fits perfectly on the end-panel of a standard kitchen wall cabinet. Large numbers make it easy to see from across the room and there is plenty of room for daily entries. This is the first calendar we have found of this type that has a matte paper finish -- reducing glare and, most importantly, allowing entries to be made in pencil (and later erased as schedules change or events are canceled).
It is not decorative in any way... just perfectively functional. Highly recommended for anyone who values utility above beauty.
